JFB Framework / 01

Enterprise readiness is a system, not a score.

A growth or transition point reveals whether the enterprise can carry its ambition. This framework helps owners and leadership teams examine the six connected systems that make the next chapter executable.

The Framework

Six systems. One enterprise question.

The question is not whether each capability exists in isolation. It is whether strategy, operating capacity, leadership, governance, capital, and intelligence reinforce one another at the moment the enterprise needs to move.

01

Strategy

A clear enterprise thesis, set of choices, priorities, and definition of progress that guides the next chapter.

02

Operating Capacity

The roles, management cadence, systems, and accountability needed to translate direction into consistent action.

03

Leadership

Leadership capacity, authority, and expectations that match the enterprise's real level of complexity.

04

Governance

Clear owner, board, and management roles with decision rights and oversight appropriate to the moment.

05

Capital

Ownership, financing, transaction, and value choices that support strategy rather than merely responding to events.

06

Intelligence

Decision-quality reporting, knowledge, diligence, and practical tools that improve the speed and quality of judgment.

Readiness Levels

Readiness is contextual, not binary.

A system can be fit for one stage and insufficient for the next. The point is not to label an enterprise. It is to see where coordinated reinforcement is needed before pressure exposes a gap.

FOUNDATIONAL

Person-dependent

Important work and decisions depend heavily on a few people, informal coordination, or institutional memory.

DEVELOPING

Present but uneven

Core structures exist, but they are not yet consistently translated across the enterprise or resilient under pressure.

READY

Coordinated for the next chapter

Systems are clear enough to support judgment, execution, and adaptation as the enterprise grows or changes.

How To Use It

Begin with the next consequential moment.

Readiness is most useful when anchored to a real decision: a growth initiative, acquisition, leadership transition, succession, refinancing, governance change, or a shift in the operating model.

01 / NAME

State the enterprise moment.

Define the decision, transition, or ambition that will test the organization over the next horizon.

02 / SEE

Find the constraining system.

Surface where the six systems are out of proportion to the opportunity or complexity ahead.

03 / SEQUENCE

Build the reinforcing agenda.

Choose the practical changes that create movement without overwhelming leadership capacity or the operating system.

A discussion framework, not a substitute for diligence. The framework is designed to make the enterprise question clearer. A material capital, legal, tax, investment, or governance decision should be evaluated with the appropriate professional advice.
